Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and television actress who is known for her role as the fiery attorney Teri Joseph in the Showtime series Soul Food. When she got married, she changed her name to Nikki Kodjoe. As a child, she was a natural actor. At the Maryland contest for high school students she took home the award for the Best Actress. She earned her acting degree from the New York University after working at 'The Washington Ballet Company' and performing in the theatre. Her first major role in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love brought the most admiration. Films like Blue Streak and Boogie Nights Spark were followed by Boogie Nights Spark. Soul Food, her TV show, was widely praised because of the performances she performed. She also appeared in TV series such as Second Time Around' and Empire. Early in her career she performed in a variety of stage productions. Parker is also engaged in politics and is married model-actor Boris Kodjoe. They have two children.
Contractor who was brought up by his parents from Nigeria and Mumbai before he turned seven, had traveled around all over the world and had a taste of diverse cultures when he was a kid. She attended boarding school from the age of 7 to 9 in London. Later her family moved back to Toronto (Canada) in Canada, where she spent her entire childhood. Contractor was a student and an expert in classical dancing in Toronto. At the Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public school for high schools that is specialized in arts) the student studied dance and theatre. Contractor aged 16 at the time she realized that acting would become her profession. Dance was her passion for over a decade. Upon graduating from high school she accepted a full scholarship to at the University of Toronto, where she completed a masters degree in theater and a dual major in sociology and psychology. Contractor was a participant in the highly acclaimed Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada, for Pericles. After a full year, she was given the role of lead. In 2002, Canadian critics praised her performance in 92 performances of the play. Contractor accepted the offer to attend Stratford's Conservatory program. There are only eight males and four females accepted for a 20-week intensive course in classical theater. Contractor received a guaranteed spot in the next season of plays and landed the part as Hermia In A Midsummer Night's Dream.
